In past years one of the most interesting topic is Farming Simulator mods for consoles: Xbox and PS4. A lot of players play Farming Simulator on consoles, like Xbox One and 360, Playstation 3 and 4. These devices are compatible with mods. But for mobile devices: Apple, Android and Nintendo Switch mods usually not compatible. So, in this article, we will talk about mods that work on consoles.
Why are so few mods for consoles? There are two main problems for Xbox/PS mods. The first problem is the licenses. Console mods must be licensed. Farming Simulator has only several farming machinery and equipment licenses. So, modders can’t create new mods with other than default brands.
Another problem is scripts. Console graphics cards are slightly different than PC. Also, is different software. These differences make mods compatibility problems. Mods must be without some graphics effects, like shades. Other effects must be changed by others. Some work only on PC, another only for consoles.
It also is a challenge to test console mods. All mods are created with PC. But these mods need to test with Xbox One, PS3, PS4 and other devices. So, a modder must have access to all consoles just for testing purposes. It is expensive and be done only having devices because emulators do not work reliably. In the FS community is some guys who test mods, but usually, they have a very long waiting queue.
So, what to do if you want to play Farming Simulator 21 with Xbox or Playstation? There are two choices. The first choice is to play FS21 with fewer mods. The second choice is to get the game on a PC and download tons of mods for free.
